Visit to a Tamil Village.

I am happy.

To begin with, I am doing MBA at Great Lakes. This is a 12 month duration course. A pretty hectic one. And, we are into the second month now. Besides the studies, there is a course in which we have to interact with the village folks and try to address their problems with the help of the district administration. This will be a 5 month long process.

Today was our first visit to the village selected for my group.

I am also a villager. A hardcore one at that. But, I have been to villages in Punjab only. And, there is a contrast. A striking contrast between the village life in Punjab and in Tamil Nadu.

The village name is Verapuram. A dusty road leads to some one room huts. Huts with thatched roofs and mud floors. Before each of the huts we find a few ladies sitting and some kids playing. There are brick houses as well but these are few and far. One striking similarity between the villages in Punjab and Verapuram is the cheerful kids.

I have here a few snaps that I took on my first visit to the village. More updates on the visits and photographs will follow.1DSCN0077P1040519...
